Working with a VA Has Made My Life So Much Easier

Entrepreneur Rachel Beider was tired of missing out on potential new business while she was busy with her current clients. She decided to hire a virtual assistant to help her assist with getting new clients onboard, so that she could focus on the job at hand. Her only regret? Not doing it sooner! Read Rachel's story below:

What were you struggling with in your business that led you to begin working with a virtual assistant?

I was scheduling all of my massage client appointments myself, before hiring a virtual assistant. Every time I went into work with a client, I would miss a bunch of phone calls, which cost me potential clients. I wanted to be able to have someone else answer the phones when I was unable to.

Tell us a little bit about what you have delegated and how you work together?

I have delegated all phone calls, scheduling of appointments, appointment call reminders to clients, and also bookkeeping to my virtual assistants.

How has working with a virtual assistant supported your business, and you personally?

Working with virtual assistants has made my life so much easier! I never miss a work call, appointments are booked while I’m in a session, and I’m a lot less stressed and anxious over losing out on business.

What differences have you noticed in your business since you began working with a virtual assistant?

Since working with a virtual assistant, my business has grown immensely. By delegating these smaller daily needs and tasks, I’m able to focus on the bigger picture. I recently opened a second location of my business and am thrilled to be able to rely on my virtual assistants to help me handle things while we get up and running.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs seeking virtual assistants?

I would advise entrepreneurs that although it can be scary to give up some control over certain parts of the business, it is absolutely necessary to be able to grow. If you are a bottleneck of information, and everything needs to pass through you for your business to succeed, it’s not scalable. Choose a service that you feel comfortable with, and that’s well-reviewed, and start by being organized yourself - have a script for them to follow to help with the transition. And lastly, don’t wait! I wish I had done it sooner!
