Hiring a VA Has Changed The Way I Work Completely

Hiring a VA Has Changed The Way I Work Completely

Entrepreneur and creative professional, Jette Virdi, was feeling her creative spirit being weighed down by the administrative side of running her business. When she decided to hire a virtual assistant to help her take care of the things she dreaded doing, she realized that not only was it great for her, but also for the growth of her company! Read Jette's story below:

What were you struggling with in your business that led you to begin working with a virtual assistant?

My weakness is writing and accounts and all the boring stuff! I’m a creative and I want to be meeting customers, and spending time making things. I realized that writing press releases and doing business plans where such a waste of time for me, why not hire someone to do who is great at it so that I can actually get face to face with the people who are buying into my brand?

Tell us a little bit about what you have delegated and how you work together?

We work really well together! Every week or once a month I send him a little list of things I need help with along with all relevant work. He then lets me know when he’s hit his maximum number of hours. If I can afford it I let him keep going and if not, it waits for the next month.

How has working with a virtual assistant supported your business, and you personally?

It’s changed the way I work completely. Hours of time that would have been spent doing writing tasks have been eliminated which let’s me have so much more time to create. A lot of other people I know have said ‘but I don’t have the money to hire someone’. I was the same, but I can honestly say it’s freed me up to create new collections, meet new customers etc. So it was actually a great business decision.

What differences have you noticed in your business since you began working with a virtual assistant?

Mostly just that I now have so much more free time, more time doing what I love!

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs seeking virtual assistants?

I'd say go for it, with someone who’s been recommended, try it out. Mine is fabulous and I’d definitely recommend him!
