But behold - there's an app for that. A few actually! These little time-saving gems will help you get back precious minutes of your work day. So go ahead and use them to make that second cup of coffee, you're gonna need it!
Having an organized To-Do list could never be overrated. This helps you stay on topic, and focus on the tasks that need to be finished during your day. To keep your to-do's in one easy to access place, Clear is the perfect app. You can create as many lists as you need, sort them into categories, and sort them by urgency. Swipe to remove when done. It's ideal if you're looking for something to keep you organized, that isn't too complicated. Will really save you time and help you get more done.
Have you heard of IFTTT ? It is quite the genius little app, but not one that some understand fully yet. Essentially, it is just a giant timesaver. You can set up 'recipes' for your actions or content, that will 'get to work' when they're triggered. For example, you might regularly add items to 'Pocket' (the read it later service), but easily can forget to read it later! With IFTTT, you can set it up so that when something is saved to Pocket, it then will also add it to your to do list for the day, whatever app that may be. Another example: perhaps you took some great photos for a client today. You can get IFTTT to upload them to your Dropbox automatically. Clever stuff. See more examples here.
When you work for yourself - you have a lot of contacts. Nothing says "giant time-suck" more then when you're trying to find that ONE number or email that you need, searching through your many social networks and emails to find it. FullContact prevents this. It compiles all of your contacts from all of the main services you use, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Skype, and then keeps them updated in real time.
